Next verse same as the first…

Round 2 of the 4 round SX portion of the Rockstar Triple Crown series took place in Delaware ON to a reported crowd of 2500 fans.  It was an outdoor venue that capitalized on a speedway oval where the track was constructed on the banking and infield to give the fans an up-close view of the action.

The day started off similar to the previous round with Pettis setting fastest time throughout the practice and timed qualifiers.  Cannella who was looking more comfortable was able to post the 5th fastest time of the day.

As the cooler temps set in and the lights came on it was Pettis and Cannella in heat number 2 going head to head as they ran 1-2 out front.  Pettis would take the checkers and have first gate pick for the main.

The start was tricky but both riders made it through cleanly.  Pettis running 3rd and Cannella with work to do in 7th.   Pettis showed that the whoops were where he was dominant as he made up time and passes through the section.   Cannella made his way up with some clean and aggressive passes as he tucked into 4th and worked on closing the gap to the final podium spot.   Once Jess was out front he inched away from the pack to cross the checkers with another victory opening the season with a 1-1 in the two mains so far in the series.  Marco would have to settle for 4th but moved up one spot in the standings to 4th overall within striking distance of the podium.

No rest for the wicked though, as now the team switches back to outdoor mode in preparation for Jess to represent Team Canada at the MXoN in RedBud in two short weeks!
